FAQ

I'm a brand - why would I want to purchase Rust Coast?

Over half of apparel returns are due to fit, and traditional quality control only samples a small percentage of units. Additionally, your brand might never touch most of the clothing that has your logo on it, so it is hard to see if there are quality issues, until something gets returned by a consumer. Rust Coast measures every garment to within 1/8 inch, so fit problems are caught at the station instead of by your customer. Every unit also gets a photographic history across its construction steps - a digital product passport - and all of it syncs into your own data platform, giving you bundle-level proof of quality from your factories.

Does our factory need internet to use Rust Coast?

Rust Coast stations measure and flag garments on the station itself, so a dropped connection does not stop quality control on the floor. An internet connection is needed to sync photos, measurements, and analytics to your dashboards and data lake, and to receive software updates - stations hold their data locally and catch up when the connection comes back.

Does Rust Coast require any change in process?

Very little. Stations mount at the workstations you already have, and garments are measured as they move through the construction steps you already do. The main change is a good one: an out-of-spec piece is flagged while it is still at the station, so it can be corrected on the spot instead of being discovered downstream.

Does any bulky equipment need to be installed?

No. A station is a camera and a small IoT computer mounted at an existing workstation. There are no conveyors, cabinets, or dedicated floor space to plan for.

Can Rust Coast integrate with other tools that I use? Like SAP, Centric, Narvar, etc.

Yes - we are able to integrate with almost any tool out there. That data can be pulled onto the factory floor, or can be pulled together in the cloud (ex: in Dashboards).
